Tonight we go into the KHMH COVID-19 Unit where thirty persons are hospitalized. We take a look at a unique angle on the war on COVID where nurses and doctors put their lives at risk to save those who have been infected. They’ve been doing so since the virus was detected in Belize on March 23, 2020; and the COVID fatigue they are experiencing is on a whole different level than what the regular citizen sees. Nurses and doctors at the COVID unit watch people die almost daily now. They double their work hours per week and they keep going but the level of stress is immeasurable. Senior Reporter Hipolito Novelo got dressed in the required protective gear today and bravely entered the Covid-19 Unit for a first-hand look. Here is that story.
