LPG Prices Increase by 23 Cents: Higher Acquisition Costs Impact Belizean Households

Today, the price per gallon of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) – the gas you cook with – registered a 23-cent increase. The Supplies Control Unit in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise says the price increase, attributed to the higher acquisition cost of both butane and propane, is now in effect. The import wholesale price everywhere is $3.82 per gallon. The retail prices in the villages are $1.26 per pound or $5.52 per gallon. In the cities and towns, the retail price is $1.24 per pound or $5.42 per gallon.
