The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Commerce has announced that at midnight a new fixed controlled price will be introduced for the sale of Liquefied Petroleum Gas. At the Wholesale level the price will be $2.61 per gallon, Retail price in the urban areas will be $4.21 per gallon, and in the rural retail prices will be $4.31 per gallon. This change now reflects the sale by wholesale volume and retail sales by volume in both urban and rural areas. According to the Belize Bureau of Standards, the monthly increase seen in September is due to fluctuations in acquisition prices for LPG. They added that the prices established for imported LPG are based on the mixtures of 70:30 Propane and Butane respectively only as per the requirement of the Belize National Standard Specification for Liquefied Petroleum Gas. /// At midnight there will also be a change at the fuel pumps.  The price of diesel will decrease by seven cents, from $8.40 to $8.33. The prices for premium and regular gasoline and kerosene will remain unchanged at $9.36, $8.61 and $5.43 per gallon respectively.
