Last night we told you that the cost of power will be going up in the next few months after Belize Electricity Limited made an application to the Public Utilities Commission for an increase. Tonight we can report that yet another necessary item will see a hike. This one takes effect at midnight. Liquid petroleum gas (LPG ) or butane prices countrywide will increase by ten dollars. According to the Belize Bureau of Standards, the 100 pound cylinder of LPG will sell for one hundred and fourteen dollars in Corozal Town and Belize City. In Orange Walk it will sell at one hundred and fifteen dollars while in Belmopan and San Ignacio Town it will sell at one hundred and sixteen dollars. Residents of Benque Viejo del Carmen Town will now pay one hundred and seventeen dollars while Dangriga and Punta Gorda residents will pay one hundred and eighteen dollars and one hundred and nineteen dollars respectively.
