The murder trial for 26-year-old Luis Carter ended in a conviction this morning before Justice Colin Williams. This morning, the murder trial against Carter, ended in a conviction but Justice Williams has deferred sentencing of the convict for next week, Friday, February 28. Carter was charged and arraigned for the murder of Dwayne Hyde which occurred on July 13, 2016. Hyde was shot multiples times to the body but lived for a few weeks then he succumbed from his injuries. Two days after the shooting, on July 15, 2016, Carter was initially arraigned on three criminal offenses, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm along with aggravated assault upon Hyde’s common-law-wife, Kimberly Humes. In August 2016 Carter saw those charges upgraded to murder. In the murder trial which lasted two weeks, Carter was represented by Senior Counsel, Attorney, Simeon Sampson, while the crown was represented by Shanice Lovelle.
