Another issue that Minister Mahler addressed over the weekend had to do with the comments made by the Public Service Union (PSU) when the news came out of possible firings within the Department of Youth Services and the Sports Council. Mahler said he was disappointed that the union president would choose to give an interview to the media based on rumors as opposed to calling him to verify the information.

Anthony Mahler, Minister of Youth and Sports: “I’ll tell you this first right ? My father was a union leader and my adopted grandfather was a prominent union leader so I come out of union households. I had a picture with me with my placard protesting in front of BEC when I was a child with my dad. So I respect unions but how can you go public without say hear what pick up the phone and call minister, yo what did you say really ? What is it that you want to accomplish ? The is the true meaning of dialogue, that is the true meaning you get out there and say a whole pile of thing that you hear one side of the story right ?”
We’ll have much more from Minister Anthony Mahler in tomorrow’s newscast.
