Major Upgrades Planned for George Price Highway with CDB Support

Representatives from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) are in Belize this week to discuss major upgrades to the George Price Highway. The Ministry of Economic Development says that the Government of Belize has requested financial support from the CDB for a project to upgrade the stretch of the highway leading from Belize City to the Guanacaste Roundabout. The project will include improvements to drainage structures, road safety features, and other upgrades to enhance the serviceability of the roadway. The CDB team held its first meeting yesterday as part of an appraisal exercise that will include consultations with governmental and non-governmental agencies. The meeting was held with the Ministries of Finance, Economic Development and Infrastructure, Development and Housing.
