Man beaten and kidnapped in weekend home invasion in San Pedro

An elderly man from La Isla Bonita is the latest victim of an aggravated burglary turned kidnapping. On Saturday morning at around three o’clock 68-year-old Salmon Sealy was inside his home in North San Pedro, when was awoken from his sleep by noises and flashing lights. It was three men, speaking Kriol, asking him about some drugs. Sealy did not know any of the attackers but was able to tell police that one of them was Hispanic and the others were dark-skinned. Sealy was dragged from the house and was hit in the face and body. During the ordeal, one of the men placed a knife to his throat and then hit him with the knife to his forehead. While under duress, Sealy was repeatedly asked about some drugs, which he told police he knew nothing of. Sealy was then put into a boat that was docked nearby and which had three other accomplices. The boat left the shore and about a mile away, they threw the elderly man overboard and sped away. Sealy managed to swim ashore and went back home. Sealy was taken to the San Pedro Polyclinic where he was treated for the injuries. No one has been detained.
