34-year-old, Samuel August Senior killed his son and the child’s grandmother in a tragic and senseless incident after he lost a court battle for custody of his children. On October 31st he drove a backhoe into their home on Faber’s Road and killed 5-year-old Samir August and Louise Young. While he killed them he also injured Britney Craig who was also asleep in the house. Both August and Young were laid to rest yesterday. August senior was in court today to answer to several charges stemming from the incident. August stood before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford and was arraigned, unrepresented, on two counts of murder, dangerous harm and robbery. While no plea could have been taken for the charges of murder and dangerous harm, August did plead not-guilty on the charge of robbery of a vehicle. On the second of November, August escaped from his police guard at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) and made his way to Gentle Avenue in the King’s Park area where he forced Tanisha Ross out of her vehicle. August then drove the vehicle onto the Philip Goldson Highway and rear-ended a tractor. August was remanded to the prison.
