A Belize City man was convicted of damage to property this week, stemming from an old charge that he wasn’t showing up to court for. Fifty-three-year-old Robert Crown was picked up by police on a bench warrant for missing his court dates and brought before a Magistrate on Wednesday. He immediately pleaded guilty to the charge as was fined a hundred dollars plus five dollars cost of court. He has until September 30 to pay his fine or he will face one month in prison. In October 2022, he was charged with breaking a water pipe in the yard he lived in along with his nephew because the nephew cut out his water. The nephew says that had not been paying his portion of the bill.
