A laborer has passed away after succumbing to his injuries he received a week prior to his death. 42-year-old, Edwin Gilbert Usher, was at Li Zhen Store, Belize City, on November 23, when a male person approached and attacked him. Usher was left unconscious and on the floor with injuries to his head and mouth. Usher was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. He succumbed to those injuries on Sunday, December 1. Love News spoke with the uncle of the deceased, Albert Miller, who told us that his nephew was never one to start or go looking for trouble.
Albert Miller, Uncle of Deceased: “On Saturday, it’s so unfortunate that someone had chanced him, attacked him and beat him up bad, punched him, knocked him to the ground and after knocking him to the ground they kicked him and stomped him in his head. You know people passed by saw it and people tried to stop them, they took off. He walked from where – I guess he regained consciousness a little bit and walked from where he was beaten and knocked down and he came around here, some people brought him around here. He got both sides of his jaw broken, serious head damage that when he went to the hospital he was brain dead. He spent about a week in the hospital, within the space of a week he died. Tommy was a good person, he wasn’t a violent person. He drank just like anybody else and you know he grew up in the area here and he lives around here and like an body around this neighborhood can ask ‘Tommy go buy this for me.’ or ‘Tommy come do this for me.’ he would do it and that’s the type of person he is. He wasn’t a violent person, he wasn’t a person going around looking for trouble. He was just a person who liked to drink- a lot of barking but not bite.”
The Police are looking for one suspect regarding the murder of Edwin Usher. Love News will keep you updated.
