Man drowns in Corozal

CZL DROWNING

Corozal residents received a shock yesterday after a body was seen floating in the river near the Pueblo Viejo Ferry. The body was later identified as Milton Corerra, who reportedly attempted to cross the river with Military boots and a backpack.

Corozal residents received a shock yesterday after a body was seen floating in the river near the Pueblo Viejo Ferry. The body was later identified as Milton Corerra, who reportedly attempted to cross the river with Military boots and a backpack. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero says the investigation is being categorized as a drowning.

Senior Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Investigations revealed that the vehicle and the motorcycle were travelling opposite directions when they collided at some point on the road. As a result the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries and he was identified as Roberto Cordova, 41 years.”

Reporter: Any indication as to who was on the wrong side of the road ? 

Senior Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch:  “Well investigations will determine that thereafter. We will look at all the sketches drawn and statements recorded and that will be determined thereafter.”
