A man was fined over nine hundred dollars this week after getting violent during a domestic dispute. Thirty-four-year-old Victor Avilez appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with a single count of wounding. Avilez was emotional in court when he pleaded guilty to the offense and explained to the magistrate that he had received pictures to prove his common-law wife had been unfaithful with a co-worker at her new job. He said that in his rage he slapped her.
