33-year-old Victor Spain was stabbed to death in San Ignacio. Spain’s body was found yesterday afternoon in his home on Domingo Cruz Street in San Ignacio Town. Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, briefed the media this morning.

“Initial investigation revealed that Spain was last seen alive on Friday, December 1 until his body was discovered yesterday sometime around 3 PM. The body was observed to have an apparent stab wound above the left eye and other bodily injuries. The scene was processed and the body was removed. Police investigation into this matter continues. The last time he was seen alive was on Friday around 5:30 PM and the only other person that made contact with him then was the same person who discovered his body yesterday afternoon.”
A motive for Spain’s murder has not been established. A post-mortem has certified the cause of death as traumatic asphyxiation due to a cut wound to the neck.
