Man gunned down in broad daylight

33-year-old, Derrick Tracy of a Dangriga address, was killed in Belize City this afternoon as he stood in the yard where his sister, Linda Tracy lives.  Derrick was in the company of his girlfriend, Valerie August just before one o’clock this afternoon, visiting his sister on Sittee Street, when a gunman dressed in a red and white shirt approached and fired as much as five gunshots in Derrick’s direction.  Derrick was shot to the left side of the chest, the right arm, the left wrist and the right side of his stomach.  His sister, Anita, explained to Love News that this may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Anita Tracy – Sister of deceased: ““I was supposed to see him; he was dead, shot up in my sister’s yard. Someone followed him, someone targeted him, only jobs. They never run out of jobs, any time they want to fix up the house they call, my cousins them. It must have been my other brother that they wanted to hurt but they figured it was him and they caught him. They caught the wrong person, if you can’t catch Harry, you catch the shirt.”

According to reports, the gunman came from the direction of Ebony Street and fled the scene through an adjacent yard leading back out to Ebony Street.  Derrick’s body now awaits a post mortem.  Love News understands that surveillance footage in the area has proven useful in this murder investigation.
