The third traffic accident happened just outside Hattieville, Belize District. Another man was knocked off his bicycle. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, told us the man was heading home when he was killed.

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “On yesterday’s date sometime after 1:30 pm police were called to an area on the George Price Highway between miles 17 and 18 where upon arrival they saw the motionless body of a male person on the right hand side of the road when eastbound toward Hattieville. He was later identified as Balbino Fermin, 54 year of a Hattieville area address. What the police know so far is that Fermin was eastbound towards Hattieville when he was knocked down from behind off his bicycle by a black SUV type vehicle that was coming in the same direction. That driver has since been detained pending the investigation into this fatal traffic accident.”

He lived in Bainsville area of Hattieville.
