A man was killed this weekend in the Corozal District. His body was found under some bleachers on Saturday morning. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, gave the preliminary details that the police have gathered.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “On Saturday sometime around 6:30AM police were called to the stadium in Corozal Town in the Rodney Moguel area where they observed the lifeless body of a Hispanic male later identified as Jari Tamay, 22 years of a Corozal Town address with apparent gunshot wounds and motionless. Persons living in that vicinity reported to police that sometime between 12:30AM and 1:00AM on Saturday morning several shots were heard in that area. As a result the scene was processed and the body was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where it was pronounced dead. Police are investigating this matter also and at this point in time we do not have anyone in our custody. The motive at this point in time we have not been able to establish either.”
