OW HIT & RUN 2

40-year-old Jose Sanker is dead following a hit and run in San Jose Village, Orange Walk District. Sanker was reportedly on his way home on a bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver failed to stop and render aid which makes him wanted by the police.  Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, is asking for the public’s assistance in helping them solve this case.

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of Crimes Investigation Branch: “Sometime after 8pm police were called to an area between miles 61 & 62 on the Philip Goldson Highway in San Jose Village in the Orange Walk district where upon arrival a Hispanic male person was with injuries to his head and later identified as Jose Sanker, 40 year old laborer of San Jose Village, he was motionless and apparently dead. Also within the area the police discovered a black beach cruiser bicycle with its rear wheel extensively damaged. What the police know so far is that the deceased was heading the direction of Orange Walk when he apparently was knocked down from behind by a dark in color Rodeo which did not stop. As a result the scene was processed and the body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where it was pronounced dead.”

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact their nearest police station.
