“So far the investigation revealed that the Mazda Tribute was travelling on the San Victor San Narciso road towards San Narciso Village where it collided into the rear of the pickup which had mechanical failure and was parked on the right hand side of the road with its hazard lights on. When police responded they didn’t know it was a fatal until they were told. When the police got there, they spoke to a police officer who was the driver of the white pick-up truck and he told them what transpired and the victim was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was a passenger in the Mazda pick-up, he was seated on the passenger side of the pick up when it turned over.”
Carias apparently died from injuries sustained in the impact. The Ford ranger was sent off the road and overturned. We are told that at the time, the driver, 24 year old Victor Noble, a police officer was outside but his son was inside the pickup. The child sustained minor cuts to his face and back. Police have collected samples from both drivers to test for alcohol levels. The driver of the Mazda is in police custody pending investigations. Police says that, despite allegations, they did not find contraband in the Mazda pickup when they arrived at the scene of the incident.
