A man took his own life yesterday after he was approached by officers for not wearing his mask. 26-year-old Morgan Francisco Jr was reportedly inside his own yard at Peter Seco Street in Belize City when the officer stood on the street side and asked to speak with him. Francisco’s father, Morgan Francisco Sr, explained that the officer was not aggressive towards him. He told Love News what transpired.
Morgan Francisco Sr., Father of Deceased: “I was working in the yard and I’m in my yard so she stood on the street side, and I in my yard and the police came. The police came slowly right in front of my house, right where that vehicle is parked and if you can notice it’s on the street side. My son was coming in the yard to speak to the lady when the police came and when he saw the police he reversed back right where you’re standing. He reversed back and went straight inside and he said “Wait” and the police insisted on calling him back to speak to him but he never wanted to speak to the police and he went inside, took the butcher knife from off the table and stabbed himself right at the table inside the house. My wife went behind him and he still slumped back after he stabbed himself in the chest under the heart. He slumped more on the knife and he had the strength to come out of the house running and uttered something to the policeman on the street right in front of the house. All his blood stained body after he bled is on the police jeep and he came back and came back and fell right where you’re standing, all the blood right there. Where you’re standing is where my son blood gushed out after he stabbed himself and still had the strength to run at the foot of the step and there is where he fell.”
Francisco Sr explained that his son had fallen into a deep depression after various events that occurred in his life.
Morgan Francisco Sr., Father of Deceased: “My son went through some sequence of events, marital problems, family problems with a girl that has two children that are not his but he went to Gardenia to make life with the girl that has the two kids with her family there but they dislike my son and my son decided to come back home. So my son is back home for two weeks. All through his return he was heart broken, I noticed that he hardly ate, he cleaned the yard and he made group chats and he was always with his phone and tried to make a group but he was frustrated and it seems he had a lot of problems. I noticed that every time the police comes, the came to an adjacent yard over there and my son said “Watch it.” he got so paranoid and every time the police comes he said “Watch it they will come for me directly.”
The victim’s father also explained that the officer did not want to take his son in his vehicle to the hospital, but instead told them to call an ambulance. The family waited until another mobile came before their loved one was taken to the hospital.
