Man Remanded for Stealing $15 Bicycle in Belize City

A Belize City man was remanded to the Belize Central Prison after being charged for stealing a bicycle valued at fifteen dollars. Fifty-seven-year-old Marlon Blease was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrates Court before Chief Magistrate, Jayani Wegodapola on a single charge of theft. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. In court the prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that Blease has three previous convictions for crimes of dishonesty and had not been showing up to court in respect to cases he has pending. The Chief Magistrate upheld the objection and Blease was remanded until August 2. The bicycle was stolen from in front of S & A’s Store located on Central American Boulevard.
