An office assistant attached to the Ministry of Works in Orange Walk Town was found dead inside his car last night. 27-year-old Darren Gentle was found bent over in the driver’s seat of his Chevrolet Trail Blazer SUV just before eight o’clock on a road in San Jose Village, Orange Walk District. Police found Gentle bent over in the front passenger seat. Preliminary reports indicate that Gentle was with a resident of Asuncion Street in Orange Walk Town and was accompanying him to deliver marijuana to someone known to him. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero gave us more details, including that the police currently do not have a motive for this murder.

Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “On Wednesday the 23rd day of October 2019 around 7:30pm police visited a road north of A&R distributors in San Jose Village where they found the lifeless body of Darren Gentle, 27 years office assistant at the Ministry of Works with gunshot injuries motionless apparently dead inside a vehicle. Information received was that he was along with another male person, they went to the area to meet with other persons thereafter one person showed up , there after another male person came and fired shots towards the deceased. We are seeking one person in connection to this investigation and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”
Gentle is not known to police.
