A Belmopan resident was stabbed by his friend seven times on Sunday evening. 39-year-old Porfilio Ico now remains hospitalized in a critical condition. Cayo Correspondent Fem Cruz has the story.
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: A heated argument sometime around five thirty this past Sunday evening in the San Martin area of Belmopan resulted in one person being stabbed multiple times. The person was identified as 39-year-old Porfilio Ico a handyman of the said address. Margarita Ico, the mother of the injured man, spoke to Love News about her son’s condition.
Margarita Ico, Mother: “At about five thirty in the evening I received news that said my son had been stabbed. They were socializing with some friends, they had an argument with this person and they just took out a knife and began to stab him and he got stabbed on his stomach and on his hand; four stabs on his stomach and three on his hand. For no reason I believe because we knew the guy he is our friend so I don’t see the reason why he wanted to do that to my son.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: Ma’am tell us the condition of your son presently. We know that he is still in a serious condition with a tube inside his belly, tell us.
Margarita Ico, Mother: “Well right now he’s doing much better but last night he said that he nearly died but I believe by the grace of God he’s still living.”
Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: What would you want to say to that person that did that ?
Margarita Ico, Mother: “Nothing I guess. I’d just say that God forgives him.”
