58-Year-old Businessman, Manuel Pacheco murder trial with a judge without jury kicked off before Justice Colin Williams in the Supreme Court today. Pacheco was charged back on June 18, 2018, for killing his neighbor, 50-year-old Jose Manuel Villanueva. Allegations are that Villanueva and Pacheco were arguing over a loud barking dog. During the argument, Pacheco allegedly pulled out his gun and fired shots in Villanueva’s direction, hitting him and killing him on the spot. After almost 2 years on remand for murder, one eyewitness has been identified as the victim’s granddaughter. Prosecutor in the case, Shanice Lovelle has called several witnesses including the doctor, Mario Estradabran to the stand. Her crown witness, the victims’ granddaughter was on the stand up until 3:00 this afternoon. The trial continues tomorrow, Tuesday before Justice Colin Williams. Attorney for Pacheco is Senior Crown Counsel, Ellis Arnold. On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, Pacheco’s case was committed to stand trial for murder by Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser.
