Marine Conservation Summer Camp Launches Across Belize

Jamal Galvez, the program coordinator for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute Belize, announced the launch of their annual Marine Conservation Summer Camp. The camp aims to educate and inspire the next generation of marine conservationists. This year, the camp will be held in four locations across Belize namely Belize City, Gales Point, Hopkins, and Seine Bight. Each location will host sessions designed to immerse participants in the world of marine research and emphasize the importance of protecting the environment and ecosystem. Galvez highlighted that the camp is a collaborative effort, working closely with various governmental and non-governmental organizations to provide a comprehensive educational experience. The program has garnered support from local communities and international conservation groups, underscoring its significance in fostering environmental awareness and action among Belize’s youth. Galves shares more about this program.

Children ages 8-12 are invited to participate in this summer program.
