Mark Luis Castellanos Charged with Murder

Police have arrested and charged the man they believe murdered 51-year-old Julian Villanueva in the wee hours of Friday morning. He is 27-year-old Mark Luis Castellanos, a resident of Santa Elena Town, Cayo. Police discovered Villanueva’s dead body around 3 o’clock in an area off the George Price Highway in Santa Elena Town. According to the police, he sustained a cut wound to the chest. Sharing details is Police Press Officer ASP Fiztroy Yearwood.

ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “San Ignacio police responded to information of a male person seen motionless on the side of the George Price Highway. When police arrived there they observed what they believe was a stab wound to the center of the chest area. That person was rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Julian Villanueva 51 years was the victim identified in this murder. The investigators gathered certain information and at the end of their investigation they had enough information to arrest and charge Mark Lewis Castellanos 27 years of Santa Elena for the murder committed against Mr. Villanueva.”
