PAUL MAHUNG REPORTING

Two community leaders have denounced the double murder of two Maya females in rural Toledo.

SENATOR MACARIO COY, COMMUNITY LEADER

First of all, I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the family of the two young women of San Antonio Toledo that were murdered.  I pledge my support to the family during this difficult time for the loss of their loved ones. As a leader of this community I had made all appeals to the authorities to conduct an investigation into this terrible murder. They have assured me that they will carry out extensive investigations in efforts to discover the author of this crime. I have also contacted the Minister of State responsible for home affairs in regards to this matter. He had assured that no stone would be left unturned. He had also expressed his condolences to the family and gave his assurance to the family and community that justice into this matter will be brought forward.”
