Mayor Bernard Wagner Commends Government’s Efforts in Belize’s Health Sector

Mayor Bernard Wagner has commended the Briceno administration on their current works and future plans for Belize’s health sector.  In an interview done yesterday with the mayor, he explained how dire the needs are at some facilities, but how needed the presence of a healthcare is in other rural and remote areas.

Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City: “I’m proud that our government has been able to access a loan of approximately $90 million to build a state-of-the-art tertiary-level hospital in Belmopan. And it was me to understand that the Prime Minister is looking at upgrading other facilities all across the country. A lot of great things is happening in the country, and that is why you kind of sense the agitation. Remember the UDP were dead and they ran this country for 13 years and they practically gave up on the country in 2020 they were willing to walk away because it was at the edge of the cliff. And miraculously our government has been able to really turn things around. And so that is why again you see this agitation to get back.”
