Mayor Cawich Confirms Four Parcels of Land Given to Former Administrator in Controversial Land Saga

As the days progress, the land saga surrounding the Innovabel Project is revealing more and more details.  On Friday, we told you of a statement issued by the former Belmopan City Administrator, Sherlyne Julien.  In that statement, Julien noted that the four parcels of land she received was a part of her contract, under the Sheran Palacio administration, whereby the financially strapped council agreed to give her in exchange for monies owed to her.  In a statement of confirmation sent out today by Mayor Pablo Cawich, it indicated that Julien had gotten the four parcels in the names of Ajalon and Associates Limited and Tsiyon Isayah Julien.  The mayor also noted that the four parcels have a total value of just under eighty thousand dollars; a huge disparity from the 36 that was owed to Julien.  He, however, accepts that Julien’s contract did have the land clause which indicated that she was to receive one acre of land.  According to Mayor Cawich, this is the only contract issued under the Palacio regime that included a land clause.
