Mesoamerican countries work to save corals

Belize boasts of having the second largest barrier reef in the world, which forms part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System also runs along Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras.

A recent coral disease known as Stony Coral Tissue Lost has the potential to destroy corals.  The Mesoamerican countries are racing against time to come up with a way to save the corals. In this regard, they are presently meeting in Belize. Reporter Johnelle McKenzie filed the following report.
