ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “It is last week that he was convicted in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court where he was fined a total of $7,000 Belize dollars. He is still in prison awaiting the payment of that fine. The other person was was along with him has since been released from prison and ordered to leave the country was issued to him by the immigration department.”
On March six, police detained two Mexicans following the crash landing of a Cessna single-engine aircraft in Blue Creek Village, Orange Walk District. The men, identified as Ramon Lopez and Humberto Gonzalez, crash-landed after illegally entering Belize’s air space. A search of the aircraft resulted in the discovery of a container filled with aviation fuel, an undisclosed amount of Mexican currency, and zero point six grams of cocaine belonging to Lopez. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myette Lopez has been charged and Gonzalez has been given an order to leave the country.
