In commemoration of the forty years that Belize and Mexico have established diplomatic ties, the Mexican Embassy in Belize presented the “Banda de Musica de la SEDENA” which is a military ensemble represented by a group under the name Diecima Region (re-hion) Militar. They perform Mexican and Belizean folk music. During an interview with Love News, the Mexican Ambassador to Belize, Martha Zamarippa Rivas, explained how this event emphasizes the strength of the bond that Belize and Mexico share.
The Director of the band, Second Captain Octavio Morales, says that although the bilateral relationship between Belize and Mexico has remained strong over the years, sharing music and culture will further enrich those ties.
