The recent diplomatic visit of the Mexican president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has given the Government of Belize fuel to kick start projects aimed at developing and expansion of the country. Love News spoke with the Mexican Ambassador to Belize, Martha Zamarippa Rivas, who says that the Mexican government is also looking into assisting Belize’s educational sector. She explained that Mexico is offering to establish three technical schools. The primary focus is to open one in Toledo, a district whose residents often encounter difficulties when trying to access these institutions.
Martha Zamarippa Rivas, Mexican Ambassador to Belize: “But also, if Belize decides so, they have been offered two more schools to be placed wherever they think technical schools could be needed. And it would bring several benefits, because many students could learn a technical trade, which is always lacking in all countries. In Belize, in ours, technical trades are very important.”
Currently, there is one Mexican-established technical school located in Corozal.
