Minister Balderamos Garcia Faces Tough Decision in Corozal Bay Convention Support

Who will Minister Dolores Balderamos Garcia support in the Corozal Bay convention, her Minister of State Elvia Vega Samos, or her niece Thea Garcia Ramirez? Vega is the only current sitting Area Representative, who is being challenged in the People’s United Party. The decision to allow Garcia to challenge the first-time minister has been scrutinized by many, particularly when compared to the situation in Port Loyola. Today, Balderamos Garcia weighed in on the tough position and whether she believes the party made the right decision disallowing Allan Pollard to contest Gilroy Usher in Port Loyola.

Dolores Balderamos Garcia, Minister of Human Development: “Let me just, it’s gonna be a no comment right but let me just confirm one thing. Minister Elvia Vega Samos is our Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Development Families and Indigenous Peoples Affairs that’s on the one hand and on the other hand Ms.Thea Garcia Ramirez is my niece, no further comment. I will respond the way our Minister Francis Fonseca responded personally I’m not a member of the National Executive but I support the recommendations of the vetting committee, the national campaign committee, and the National Executive of the party. No further comment.”
