Following the announcement that Minister Bernard had decided to replace Dr Andre Sosa as Board Chairman of the KHMH, reports emerged that the two had not been getting along for quite some time. In fact, sources within the KHMHA shared that one of the disputes between Dr Sosa and Minister Bernard had to do with the procurement of the much-needed CT-Scan. Today, Bernard shot down those reports, calling them rubbish.
Hon. Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health and Wellness: “I will debunk the statement and I saw that on a news outlet on social media and I think it was 7News who said that there was some issue with the ministry and the CEO about a CT scan that is absolutely rubbish and if I will say BS if we will use the street language because that news station continuously tries to spur negativity and try to create mischievousness. It’s nothing to do with that. The CT scan process the Ministry has decided to take it on so the board has nothing to do with that. KHMH has nothing to do with that. We asked KHMH for the specification and we are now procuring that, we are putting that out so that we could get the right equipment in at the best quality price and that is what is important. I have spoken to private doctors who have given me quotations as well of CT scans and I have shared that with my CEO and my team because we want to ensure that whoever bids is giving us the right price.”
