The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Eamon Courtenay and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amalia Mai, held a virtual courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Belize, H.E. Hiroyuki Kubota today. Their meeting focused on current cooperation initiatives between the Government of Belize and the Government of Japan, highlighting Japan’s support for Belize’s National COVID-19 Multi-Prong Preparedness and Response Plan. Minister Courtenay stressed the importance of the cooperation relations with Japan, especially in regards to Belize’s current economic challenges. A commitment was also made to further expand the relationship between the two countries through the development of a robust cooperation framework in the coming weeks.
