While Peyrefitte says he is concerned that Ben Juratowich may not have understood the instructions given to him by the government, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eamon Courteney says he isn’t concerned. Today when our newsroom caught up with Courteney, he was asked whether he knew what Juratowich was instructed to do given he misunderstood the government’s instructions. Here’s how he responded.
Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs: “Well then question the Prime Minister about that.”
Reporter: Sir, but as the Minister of Immigration is it concerning given that I understand Mr. Juratowich is one of our representatives at The Hague, so is it concerning that the PM would say he misunderstood an assignment?
Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs: “It is not concerning to me.”
Reporter: But do you believe persons might find that concerning? Maybe persons in the public sphere who know that he’s a representative, one of representatives at Hague?
Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs: “I say again, it is not concerning to me.”
