Minister Fonseca Says Feedback from Schools Have Been Positive

After a difficult two years, students were officially welcomed back into the classrooms over the last couple of weeks. As we’ve reported, the parents, teachers, and students are overjoyed about the return. We caught up with the Minister of Education Francis Fonseca, who says that while this transition has posed some challenges, it has been an overall success.

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education: “Based on the reports we’ve received across the country I think it’s been going fairly well. Obviously we’ve had some challenges in some of our rural communities with transportation and roads, the road networks but we’ve been working very diligently with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Rural Development to address those challenges to make sure that our students have access to school, our teachers get access to school so by and large it’s been a very very good experience, it’s been very heartwarming to see the thousands of photos that parents and families have shared on social media of their children going back to school. The children are very excited, the teachers are enthusiastic so I think all in all it’s been an excellent start to the school year.”
