Minister Habet Speaks on Climate Resiliency at the United Nations Environment Assembly

Ministers of Environment from across the globe are gathered in Nairobi Kenya for the fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly. The meeting, which is a part of the UN’s Environment Programme, is the highest-level decision-making body on the environment and focuses on the creation of policies to address the world’s environmental challenges. Belize was represented at the event by Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Management, Orlando Habet who spoke about the risk climate change poses to developing nations and the need for legislation to curb its effects.

The theme for this year’s UN Environment Assembly, which began today and will end on March, 2, is “strengthening actions for nature to achieve the sustainable development goals”.
