Hon. Kareem Musa takes part in the Chromebook distribution. The republic of China (Taiwan) and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology partnered in an effort to enhance educational experiences and to facilitate interactive learning in Belize. Five- thousand chrome books were donated by the Republic of China, which were distributed between twenty schools around the country. Today marks the last of a three-day event in the distribution process. The Minister of Home affairs and New Growth Industries shared that the event was something that he was looking forward to.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “Yes, today I have the privilege of joining the personnel from the Ministry of Education on a tour in Caribbean shores to deliver 300 Chromebooks to various high schools and primary schools. After this we’ll be going over to Canaan for a distribution there and like you rightly said, it’s something that we have been looking for quite some time. Of course there’s always a need for more Chromebooks, so more access for all our children in our schools, but it’s definitely a good start. We can see the excitement of the children, the excitement of the administrative staff and teachers, and definitely they look forward to, and we look forward to contributing more laptops within our school systems.”
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology is confident that these devices will contribute to revolutionizing Belize’s education system and equipping students with the skills needed for rapidly evolving digital era.
