On Tuesday Commander of Operations for the Police Department ACP Marco Vidal recognized twenty M.I.T. police officers for their exemplary work in drug and contraband interception. But during his speech, Vidal shared one of his concerns and that’s related to police officers working along with the drug traffickers. The media ask Home Affairs Minister Kareem Musa about it.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “I can tell you this and the other day you saw where we have terminated fourteen or so officers, a lot of people criticized and said you should not be pointing out which officers are terminated but we have really come in with a zero tolerance approach to corruption within the department and taking drastic action, immediate drastic action in many instances and so you will see that continue. It’s not a one off thing that we’ve terminated fourteen officers so as soon as that comes to light and evidence comes to light of that if there are instances we will deal with it head on.”
