Minister of Home Affairs Brushes off Opposition Leader’s Allegations

The Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa, says the Leader of Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, has an obsession for him, after claiming Musa was punched by another Member of Parliament. During last Friday’s sitting of the House of Representatives, Barrow and the Pickstock Area Representative, Anthony Mahler got into a heated exchange that led to the Speaker of the House calling for a five-minute recess. But even after the Speaker left the house, the men continued in their back and forth, in which Barrow told Mahler “You wah punch me like you punch Kareem?” While Barrow says he is making no apology for the outburst, Musa says he has absolutely no idea how Barrow crafted such a tall tale.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries: “Very unfortunate, again Jules it seems like the guy has an unhealthy fascination with me, an obsession almost. I don’t know how it is that he is the only person on planet Earth that heard Kareem Musa got punched. Where did he invent this from? He’s making Andre Grey look like a lee bwai man in terms of the stories that he’s inventing. So, again another invention but certainly another insight, another window into who the Leader of the Opposition is and Belize has nothing good to look forward to with him.”
