Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa was on a tour of the Police precincts and facilities in the west. While Police Commissioner Chester Williams would not comment or update the media on the police welfare issues that were discussed, he did speak on the tour.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: The Minister and I meet regularly to discuss our different policing strategies as well as to look at where we are crimewise. As you’d know that shortly after the minister took over he did a tour of Eastern Division meeting with all the senior command and so this morning he went over by my office for a specific reason in terms of looking at some issues of welfare and after that was over I invited the minister to take a tour around headquarters to familiarize himself with headquarters and the staff at headquarters. So he was open for it and we did the tour and he was very excited for what he saw.”
