Minister of Transport Says Bus Runs Need to Be Properly Controlled

Challenges in Belize’s bus industry are still ongoing. The Minister of Transport, Rodwell Ferguson, has repeatedly stated that there will be a robust overhaul of the country’s transit system to improve the experience for commuters. A recommendation that is being placed on the table is for smaller bus operators in the north to consolidate into two major bus companies to reduce the number of runs in the region. However, this is a cause for concern among the operators that have runs in and out of the north. But, Minister Ferguson says this should be a no-brainer as the current system cannot properly be controlled.
