On October 7, the Belize National Teachers Union demanded an apology from the Foreign Affairs Minister, Wilfred Elrington after a statement he made on Saturday, October 1. For reference, here is what Elrington said in his interview two weeks ago.
“It is not my understanding that they have the remit really to take on all the issues of the country. I don’t even know whether they have the wisdom, ability or competence to deal with those issues.”
Our question to Minister Elrington today was, ‘will he apologize?’; here is how he responded.
Minister Elrington made those comments following the UDP’s National Party Council on October 1, 2016.
