Ministry of Agriculture Announces New Fixed Controlled Prices for Butane

The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise has announced new fixed controlled prices for butane that became effective today, February 16.

The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise has announced new fixed controlled prices for butane that became effective today, February 16.   The retail price per pound of butane in the urban areas, meaning all municipalities is now fixed at one dollar and fourteen cents per pound.  Those living in the rural areas will pay a bit more at one dollar and sixteen cents per pound.  Meanwhile, the wholesale price in the districts is set at three dollars and forty-two cents per gallon.  It is an increase in butane, but according to the government the monthly increase in February is due to an upward bound in acquisition prices, as US Gulf Coast stocks continue to dwindle in the face of strong and steady residential demand, particularly for propane.
