Ministry of Agriculture holds National Vegetable Stakeholder Meeting

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security held a national vegetable stakeholder meeting this morning in Belmopan with vegetable producers from various productive areas. The meeting focused on the status of the national vegetable crop production season and constraints being faced by farmers in their productivity, harvesting, and produce marketing. Willian Can, the Acting Coordinator for the Cayo District, spoke about the importance of the annual meeting.

Valentin Carrillo, Administrator of the Belize Marketing and Development Corporation, which is the ministry’s marketing arm, spoke about the importance of working with local farmers to stimulate economic activity in the agriculture sector.
