Ministry of Agriculture Meets with Potato Farmers to Address Challenges

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise held a meeting with potato farmers in the Cayo district this week to discuss the challenges they are facing as they approach the 2023-2024 crop. The meeting was held at the Agriculture Showgrounds in Belmopan and gathered the main potato-producing communities in the district. William Can, acting agriculture coordinator for the Cayo district, explained that the meeting was used enhance communication between the ministry and farmers, so that support can be given to address their issues. He added that more meetings will be held this month.
