The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, and the Belize Credit Union League have signed a partnership agreement, enabling the two institutions to work together to support financing for Belizean farmers and producers. The concept is to strengthen the technical support to beneficiary farmers, producers, and processors in the agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock sectors across all districts of Belize. The partnership agreement falls under the EcoMicro Climate Adaptation program funded by the Inter-American Development Bank Lab (IDB Lab), and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). It aims to finance loans through the league to facilitate the adaptation of technologies and green methodologies that will build climate resilience and improve overall productivity for the agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock sectors. Signing on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture was CEO Servulo Baeza. Lindburgh Smith, program coordinator, signed on behalf of the league.
