Ministry of Health and Wellness Honors Nurses for Service and Sacrifice

One hundred and twenty-seven nurses were honored today for their hard work and long-standing service to Belize Healthcare Sector. In light of Nurses’ Week, the Ministry of Health and Wellness held an award ceremony to honor the front-line workers. The country’s nurses played a fundamental role in the Covid-19 pandemic and are considered the backbone of the health system. Health Minister, Kevin Bernard, spoke about the importance of recognizing the hard work of the Belizean nurses and their continuous contribution to the nation’s health.

Minister Bernard also stated that while it is Nurses’ Week, many other healthcare workers are also being celebrated this week. He says the ministry is taking the time to recognize all the important players that contribute to the health care sector.
